the Rhodope, or Rodopi (in Bulgarian), Mountains. The highest peak in the region
is Snejanka, at a height of just over 1,900 metres, or 6,200 feet; despite the altitude,

is surprisingly mild, with an average annual temperature of 8.5 degrees Celsius.
Pamporovo
Ski School is renowned, internationally, for the quality of instruction – in skiing
and snowboarding – provided by experienced, English speaking instructors. The Ski
School is located just a few minutes from the centre of Pamporo, in close proximity
to the nursery slopes. Skiing and snowboarding lessons take place for four hours
a day, six days a week. Once you are ready for more of a challenge, or are already
an intermediate level skier, or snowboarder, you can take a chairlift up to the top
of Snejanka peak, where 20km, or 12 miles, of suitable ski runs await. For the ultimate
challenge – for advanced level skiers and snowboarders – you can take a drag lift
to `The Wall`, the most demanding run in the resort, or the slightly less demanding,
but nevertheless difficult, `Snejanka` piste.
Whatever your level of ability, you
will find that ski runs in Pamprovo are well maintained, and in good condition. The
resort is also well served by a network of ski lifts – 5 chair, and 9 drag, lifts
– providing fast and comfortable access to the ski runs, without overcrowding, or
excessive queuing. Equipment rental is also available close to the ski runs.
